CHICAGO RESTAURANT WEEK JAN. 25 – FEB. 7, 2019

I am sharing with you my suggested list of spots to check out during the biggest restaurant event of the year! Chicago Restaurant Week returns for two weeks of dining deals from hundreds of celebrated restaurants all across the city.

This year’s Chicago Restaurant Week will be the largest ever, with nearly 400 local restaurants participating. That includes over 100 first-time participants and 45 suburban restaurants.

The 12th annual culinary celebration features special prix fixe menus starting at $24 for brunch and lunch, and $36 and/or $48 for dinner (excluding beverages, tax and gratuity). It’s the perfect excuse to visit an old favorite or try somewhere new.

I could go on and on BUT I have listed a few spots I plan on checking out! I welcome feedback and suggestions as I am always open to try somewhere new and different!  Click on the link below to check out the listed places:

  3. Make your reservations early, although it is not required I highly recommend it!

Eddie V’s

Chef Jose always gets it right and this time around they are sharing a few of my favs on this menu the Crispy Salt & Pepper shrimp are a delicious and you are given the opportunity to UPGRADE your restaurant week experience get there a little early that way you can check out the happy hour menu and have a few cocktails before you eat!

Aba

The vast variety of this menu makes it perfect for sharing with a group of friends!  I am definitely checking out the grilled octopus!

The Allis

Located in Soho House has all the great views and their menu definitely does not disappoint honey balsamic mushrooms with polenta are a must do!  Finishing up with either of the dessert selections is a win win!!!

Bar Siena

Offers both a brunch, lunch and dinner menu which I am a YES for all.   Being a fan of burrata and a wedge salad they may see me and my friends a few times! So much variety you cannot go wrong here!

Barrio

Is also doing a lunch and dinner menu and if you have never been you MUST try the forest mushroom tacos they are my absolute fav!!

Bellemore

is a beautiful spot that has been on my check out list so I am definitely adding it to my places to go to for Restaurant Week!  That is one of the best parts of this event it offers you the chance to check out new places in and around Chicago that you have never been to and their menu does not disappoint either!  They are also doing a lunch and dinner menu as well.

Cafe Robey

Another spot that I have been meaning to check out so I am absolutely looking forward to trying the baked cod AND the NY strip so whoever goes to this spot with me MUST be willing to share!

Odyssey Chicago either River or Lake Michigan

Experience a special Odyssey dinner menu available during Chicago Restaurant Week 2019. Enjoy gracious service and stunning views of the city skyline or architecture — all for an exclusive Restaurant Week price! The menu options offer a bit of everything for everyone!  I am definitely getting the Odyssey Cioppino and my fav the Eli’s NY Style Cheesecake!

Gene & Georgetti

This is an oldie but a goodie!  The old school decorum combined with the classic dishes make this a must do on your list!  They are also offering a lunch or dinner menu so take your pick!  I love their lamb chops unfortunately they are not on the restaurant week menu but the beef short ribs are delicious too!  AND you can never go wrong with Tiramisu to finish off your meal!

Fort Willow

Funky tree-house themed loungeis a must see on your restaurant week schedule!  I am definitely looking forward to the Ropa Vieja and the caramel espresso flan!

Porter Kitchen & Deck

Is a lunch time fav of mine the dishes are consistent and its close to my office so its hella convenient!  When I saw them on the list I added them immediately!  I love their burrata and the charred octopus!  Looking forward to checking out the crispy brick chicken and the shrimp and grits!

Prosecco

I love this quaint River North spot!  Looking forward to checking out their menus as well and they are also doing lunch and dinner and even though it is NOT on the menu GET the meatball!!  LOL!! The Pollo al Limone sounds amazing and is on my to do list!

Portsmith

Excited to see a restaurant offering a wide array of seafood options during this event. I am looking forward to having dinner here next week. Stay tuned!

Cafe Spiagga

I have been here before only on special occasions so I am excited to be checking this out during my lunch break during restaurant week. When I saw truffle on the menu I was SOLD!

Ina Mae Tavern & Packaged Goods

One of my personal favs that reminds me of long weekends spent in New Orleans! Chef Jupiter knows how to do NOLA right! I am excited to see a few items on the restaurant week menu are items I have never had there before.

The Promotory

I cannot miss the opportunity to dine in my hood!  Yes I will be checking out my neighborhood eatery!  I love their mussels and scallops but when I saw the lamb shank on their restaurant week menu they had me!

London House

They have decided to add a theme to their restaurant week menu “ An Homage to the London House Jazz Club” there is a wide array of items to chose from to please even the pickiest of eaters!  I am definitely looking forward to the lamb chops.

This is another spot I have wanted to check out and what better time to do so than during restaurant week.  They are also offering brunch and dinner a wide array of options here also.
