FLOWER POWER!!!! Molly Guy’s Chicago Soiree in Bloom Curated With Cointreau and Guest of a Guest

July 25, 2016

I had an absolute ball at the Cointreau X Guest of a Guest The Art of La Soiree event hosted by Molly Guy of Stone Fox Bride.  It was held at the James Hotel on the patio, an area that was transformed into a floral paradise where guests were given the opportunity to mix, muddle and create their very own special Cointreau concoctions!  When I arrived, we saw the host Molly Guy mixing up a few herself!  This was a true hands on task (although I do think I can make a pretty good cocktail every now and then), but I decided to leave this to the professionals and take advantage of the passed signature cocktails like the Rickey, Cucumber Mint Rickey, and Strawberry Basil Rickey just to name a few.

It was indeed a warm summer evening as guests were given cute Cointreau fans to cool off and also invited inside for another extremely cool and fun DIY project!  Once inside we were given the opportunity to make our very own floral headbands! IKR I did consider giving up as I felt as though my headband was not starting out to look like anything anyone would want to wear!  But after some wonderful assistance from some of the Guest of a Guest team members, my floral headband started to take formation and a crown was born!  There was also a vintage pop up store that had some gorgeous dresses for purchase.  Feel like you missed out?  NOPE not at all, check out http://stonefoxbride.com/ where you can buy your very own floral crown or vintage dress directly!

I was also given the opportunity to interview Chicago’s own Molly Guy of Stone Fox Bride, yes that is correct this lovely lady is one of our own!  She is originally from Lincoln Park – – you know when you hear that a person is “from Chicago,” you have to ask what side and where?!  There are times where a person will be from Yorkville and claim they are from Chicago….NOPE but yes she is from Chicago .  I had to ask Molly for some suggestions on helping me step up my Ravinia game as we all know it is #SummertimeChi and outdoor entertaining can get boring when you do the same old same.  A few suggestions given to me by Molly were grilled veggies but make sure to chill them, charcuterie tray which will make a wonderful addition to any picnic or outdoor gathering, also chilled berries and other fruit to nibble on and of course a pre-made Cointreau cocktails! I will definitely be enjoying the Cucumber Mint Rickey which has cucumber wheels and mint leaves guaranteed to bring in the chill!  These are a few items that will be a perfect addition to any outing!
