VROOM!! VROOM!! Whew! What a week, I could NOT let this Friday go by without sharing with you the AWESOME experience we had last Friday at the BMW VIP driving experience. It was complete with a culinary demonstration with one of Chicago’s top private Chefs, Chef Julius Russell of Tale of 2 Chefs, he was joined by celebrity chef Roble of Roble & Co, what a cutie!
The evening began with a test drive of the luxurious 6 and 7 M series we were able to experience the true power of the vehicle on the Autocross tracks. It was a tad bit frightening but also exhilarating! Those bad boys can really go and flying around those corners I now know what it means when people say “Careening on Two Wheels” The first go round we rode with BMW professional Laura, yep a woman was one of our instructors. Laura, then allowed us to take the wheel ourselves OMG!!!! First we started off slow like we were old ladies, no offense to the old, then the pro said “PUNCH IT” and we were in the wind! I see why BMW is the Ultimate Driving Machine!
After the Autocross experience, where we fulfilled our need for speed, we retreated to a pop-up tent that didn’t remind us we were in a tent, where we were treated to a cocktail reception with lite bites until the cooking demo began. Chef Julius out did himself once again. Although the menu was not extensive, it was delicious. He cooked and we sampled!
The menu for the evening:
Calvados Braised Chicken
Cappuccino Gelato with Spicy Candied Walnuts
Did you know that you can visit Chef’s website and download his recipes? Take a look and then test some out with your culinary skills!
